Gurko street

One of the most picturesque streets of Veliko Tarnovo, with many restored old houses is Gurko street. They are piled up one over another, one on another and all watch to the river. Gurko Street is romantic and beautiful – a unique and attractive street.
If you look up, you’ll see houses and roofs, perched one over the other, if you look down – Yantra, meandring below the height at which the city is located.

There is no other place where you can see this amazingly merge of the natural grants with architectural tradition, as these revival houses are nested in the rocks. Here and on the Varusha hill are stored revival traditions of beauty and home comfort. At the windows of the houses are situated flirtatiously pots with flowers, ivy, grape vines are planted on each inch of land. The street was decorated with fountains and lanterns that lit the houses, people still sheltered dinners.
